Why I Love What I Do: Supporting Children with Autism

Working with children on the autism spectrum has been one of the greatest joys of my life. There’s something profoundly beautiful about helping a child find their voice, learn new skills, and gain confidence in their own unique abilities.
As a Black woman in this field, I feel especially passionate about supporting Black children with autism—children who often face layers of misunderstanding and lack of resources. Representation matters, and every child deserves someone who sees their full potential and advocates for their success.
I’m excited to share that I’ve recently started my Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at Capella University. This is a huge step toward my dream: working within school systems to provide the care, structure, and understanding that children with autism and behavioral challenges need to thrive.
But my vision doesn’t stop there. My sister and I share a big dream—to one day create a school and service center of our own. A space where neurodiverse children feel safe, supported, and celebrated for who they are. A place where families feel empowered and connected.
Every day, I’m reminded why this work matters. It’s not just a career—it’s a calling. And this is only the beginning.
🌟 Stay connected with me as I share my journey, insights, and resources to support children with autism and their families. Together, we can create a world where every child feels seen, valued, and loved.
